After overcoming multiple life-altering anxiety attacks causing her to wear a heart monitor, at the age of 30, Charron had to learn how to give her pain a voice while not blaming herself in the process. She had to remove toxicity, manage overwhelming financial setbacks, and muster up the strength to leave an unhealthy marriage, all while raising her children. In the midst of it all, Charron Monaye adapted a new sense of survival while opening up about losing everything…and finding peace in the process.
To find her voice, power, and strength, she released her first book of poetry, My Side of the Story, in 2010 under Purposeful Publishing, LLC. It was so raw, so transparent about her marriage and divorce that it was adapted into a stage play entitled Living Your Life and featured in the Black Theater Festival in Washington D.C. with actress D’atra Hicks. Realizing the power of her words, Charron created her literacy company, Pen Legacy, in 2015, which offers self-publishing, script and writing services, and writing/empowerment coaching.
Since then, Charron Monaye has been recognized as a Literary Game Changer who doesn’t mind adapting words into legacies. She’s been awarded Best Independent Author, authored 10 books, co-authored 4, published over 25 new authors, written/produced 3 theatrical productions, contributed to more than 20 book anthologies worldwide, and hired to pen other theatrical scripts such as; Testify, Til Death Do us Part, Olivia Lost & Turned Out, just to name a few.
Charron was formerly a staff writer for the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals, CNN iReport, and currently serves as a featured contributor on GovLoop.com and Editor-In-Chief for www.madisonjaye.com. And is preparing to produce her first film, which started out as a book and later adapted into a theatrical production, “Get Out Of Your Own Way”.
Charron has secured her BA in Political Science, Masters in Public Administration, Certificate in Paralegal Studies, and a Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy. In 2017, she became a student studying under television producer, screenwriter, & author Shonda Rhimes and NAACP Image Award Author Victoria Christopher Murray. She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Rho Zeta Chapter and Order of Eastern Star, Ruth #66 PHA, PA. Charron Monaye resides in Abington, Pennsylvania and is a proud mother to sons, Christopher & Craig.
